Report of elder abuse against senior citizen by his own son in La Romana

LA ROMANA.- Through a video sent to our newsroom, the mistreatment carried out against an elderly person by his own son was denounced, which has generated outrage among residents. This fact is being recorded especially on 15th Street, in the Pica Piedra Sector, right next to Victor Fantasia, in the aforementioned city. In the audiovisual circulating on social media, it can be observed how the son of the aging man assaults him on several occasions, using hurtful words and insults, all this while helping him bathe. In the video, it is observed that the elderly man cannot stand on his own feet.

Then it can be observed how the poor man is sitting on the ground imploring for help to get up, while being ignored.

Citizens have called on the National Council for the Elderly to, in coordination with the Public Ministry, take the necessary measures to assist this gentleman. The residents of the place also reported having received threats from the aggressor, who says that if he is reported, he will take the life of whoever does so, which shows that these abuses and mistreatment against the elderly are carried out constantly.
