Robert Pattinson to star in thriller inspired by the controversial show that caught sex predators
Los Ángeles.– The British actor Robert Pattinson will play journalist Chris Hansen in “Primetime”, a new A24 production inspired by the real story of the controversial television program “To Catch a Predator”, which gained great notoriety in United States for its undercover operations to expose alleged child abusers.
The film, directed by Lance Oppenheim, recreates the origin and rise of the television space broadcast between 2004 and 2007 as part of “Dateline NBC“, where Hansen confronted adults who were supposedly trying to meet with minors contacted through the internet in front of hidden cameras.
The first trailer for “Primetime“, released this week, shows Pattinson completely transformed to play the renowned journalist, in a story that explores both the media impact of the program and the ethical dilemmas generated by his method of work.
