The scheduled release date for American businessman and artist Sean Combs, known globally as Sean “Diddy” Combs, was moved up again by United States prison authorities, now set for February 23, 2028.
According to updated records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), this is the most recent modification to the music producer’s sentence completion schedule, whose release date had been adjusted several times over the last few months. It was initially scheduled for May 2028, then moved to June, and subsequently brought forward to April of that same year.
Combs is serving a 50-month prison sentence imposed in October 2025 after being found guilty of two counts related to transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution. However, he was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, charges that could have resulted in a much more severe sentence.

Currently, the artist is being held at the federal prison FCI Fort Dix, in the state of New Jersey. Various reports indicate that one of the reasons that could have influenced the progressive reduction of his sentence time is his participation in rehabilitation programs for substance abuse treatment, which allow certain inmates to opt for prison benefits.
Meanwhile, Combs’ legal battle continues. His team of lawyers is maintaining an appeal before a federal court, arguing that the conviction was excessive and requesting that it be overturned or reviewed. Prosecutors, for their part, have asked that the original sentence be upheld.

The new release date represents the third major adjustment made by prison authorities since the producer entered the federal system, although any favorable decision in the appeals process could modify his judicial situation again.
