Start the wedding season with the 26th edition of RD Bridal Week 2026

Santo Domingo.– Between colonial architecture, warm lights and a romantic atmosphere inspired by the aesthetic of the Bridgerton series, the 26th edition of RD Bridal Week, the most influential platform of the Dominican bridal industry and a reference in the Caribbean, was officially presented. The event, produced by Sócrates McKinney, will be held from March 19 to 22 at its official headquarters, the Kimpton Las Mercedes hotel, located in the Colonial City, consolidating itself as the main meeting point for the wedding sector in the region. The welcome words were given by Marta Amengual, general manager of the host hotel, who highlighted that each year the establishment opens its doors to hundreds of national and international couples who find inspiration, trends, and professional advice on this platform to conceptualize memorable celebrations. For his part, McKinney highlighted that for 26 years the event has strengthened the value chain of the bridal industry, projecting the Dominican Republic as a leading destination for weddings in the Caribbean.

“We are committed to increasing the number of visitors who come to the country to celebrate their weddings and to establish ourselves as the number one destination in the region,” he said.

Bridal Talks opens the season

The agenda will formally begin on March 8th with Bridal Talks, a congress aimed at couples looking to plan their wedding with a strategic, aesthetic, and efficient organizational vision. For more than a decade, this space has served as a guide for future spouses with the help of experts in production, design, protocol, fashion, and hospitality.

Royal Sugar Room: Confectionery as Art

One of the conceptual axes of this edition will be the tribute to Dominican haute pastry with the exclusive Royal Sugar Room, led by Mily Pimentel, from Cake Studio. The space, conceived as an ephemeral jewelry store created by Backpanels, will exhibit sugar pieces inspired by catwalk collections, elevating the pastry art to an aesthetic and conceptual dimension. Twenty-two renowned pastry chefs from all over the country will participate in this proposal, open to the public from March 19 to 21 until 10:00 p.m.

Parades and international talent

The runway calendar will include local and international designers, including Giannina Azar, Michelle Reynoso, José Jhan, Jenny Polanco, Wilson Alcéquiez and Rafael Rivero, as well as international proposals such as Lanificio Di Livenza, from Guatemala. One of the most anticipated moments will be the conceptual parade “Royal Sugar”, where fashion and pastry will share the stage in an unprecedented creative staging.

The Cake Party: Sensory Experience

As a novelty, The Cake Party will be held on Sunday, March 22nd, a sensory experience set under the Bridgerton aesthetic. The activity will bring together tastings of the creations of the 22 participating pastry chefs in an environment produced by BS Events and Media Naranja Eventos. During the four days, attendees will also enjoy gastronomic experiences from the hotel’s culinary team and mixology demonstrations by Carlos Mejía, from Model Mix.
