Subject held in captivity and raped a 12-year-old minor for 10 days in San Salvador

El Salvador.- A man identified as Misael Alexander Meléndez Dinarte was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crime of rape of a minor or incapacitated person in a continuous modality, as determined by the First Sentencing Court of Santa Tecla. The subject was convicted in an abbreviated process at the request of the parties, where he confessed to having raped a 12-year-old minor for days while holding her captive in a location in San Salvador, not identified by Judicial Centers. On March 4, 2025, near the Municipal Market of Apopa, the sentenced person “began to relate” to the girl and then moved her to the capital.
