Washington.– The White House released a series of photographs in which the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is observed supervising in real time the military operation called “Absolute Resolution”, executed in Caracas with the aim of capturing the Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
The images, disseminated through official channels, show Trump accompanied by his main advisors and high-ranking military officials as they followed the development of the operation, considered one of the most complex deployments carried out by the United States in the region in recent years.
During a press conference, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, explained that the mission was the result of months of planning and rehearsals, and that it was executed in a “discreet and precise” manner during the early hours of January 3. More than 150 aircraft participated in the deployment, including F-35, F-22 and F-18 fighter jets, E-2 early warning aircraft and B-1 strategic bombers.
According to the high military command, the main objective was to introduce an interdiction force in the center of Caracas while maintaining the element of surprise. To this end, the Joint Air Component neutralized the Venezuelan air defense systems, facilitating the safe entry of helicopters into the area where Maduro was located.

The arrival at the complex occurred at 2:01 in the morning, at which time the elite unit advanced rapidly to isolate the area and secure the capture. During the operation, a US helicopter was damaged and two soldiers were injured, although no fatalities were reported.
Trump later confirmed that Maduro and Cilia Flores were arrested and that both will face charges in US courts, where they are accused in New York of crimes related to drug trafficking and terrorism. The president praised the performance of the participating forces and stated that the operation demonstrated the capacity and reach of the United States to execute high-complexity missions.
The dissemination of the images seeks to highlight the White House’s direct monitoring of the operation and the political message of the US administration regarding the situation in Venezuela and the accountability of its leaders.
