Boca Chica.- Residents of the InviCEA, Respaldo María Estela, Mi Hogar del Este, Las Mercedes and the North Margin sectors of the municipality of Boca Chica, held a candle lighting at the entrance of Caucedo as a sign of peaceful protest against the way in which the expansion of the Ecológica avenue is being carried out. The activity, carried out on the night of this Thursday, sought to draw the attention of the authorities to the serious damages that, according to the community, the current design of the project will cause. Residents denounced that the work blocks access to the North marginal of Las Américas and to Fausto Cruz street, limiting the mobility of hundreds of families and affecting transporters, merchants and citizens of the entire north margin. The participants reiterated that, as the expansion is being constructed, the vehicular return is eliminated at the point where the work concludes, forcing drivers to travel to La Caleta to be able to return. They warned that this situation represents a risk and a direct detriment to those who depend on rapid access to the municipal hospital and essential commercial establishments.

Finally, the residents pointed out that this lighting of candles is only the beginning of a day of struggle that, if necessary, will move to the National Palace, seeking that the President of the Republic listen to their demands and order an integral solution that does not affect the communities of Boca Chica.
