Washington.- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would have preferred that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had not made public that Iran was fortifying a nuclear bunker in the Fordow Mountain, although he stated that it does not pose a problem and added that the Israeli leader wants Washington to remain in the war.
Trump, who will meet with Netanyahu at the White House in a few hours, insisted in a telephone interview with Fox News that if Tehran does not reach a peace agreement, they will destroy the underground facility near the city of Natanz.
“If there is no agreement, we will eliminate it very easily,” he threatened.
Asked about reports that Netanyahu would address the movements on the Temple Mount during today’s meeting, Trump responded sharply: “I don’t need Bibi to tell me that. Bibi tells me that because he wants me to stay involved (in the war).”
“We know exactly what is happening. But yes, I heard Bibi announce it. I told him: ‘Why don’t you tell me directly? Why do you have to announce it to everyone?’ I know exactly what is happening on the Peak Mountain. It’s not a big deal,” he asserted.

Trump acknowledged a day earlier that he maintains “minor differences” with Netanyahu regarding the war with Iran, although he stressed that both are “quite close” in their positions on the conflict, which has already reached five months with no signs of a deal.
“A wartime prime minister”
Although he has publicly praised the Israeli leader, whom he has defined as “a wartime prime minister,” the US president also called him “fucking crazy” during a tense phone conversation last June over Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
Netanyahu will attend the funeral of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham this Tuesday following his meeting with Trump, the eighth encounter between the two since he returned to the White House in January 2025 and the first since the war began on February 28.

In the interview with Fox News, Trump reiterated that U.S. forces have decimated the Iranian Navy, Army, and defense capabilities, and mentioned the division within the leadership of the Islamic Republic, warning them that he will return “to finish the job” if they do not reach a deal.
The US president said a week ago that his country would attack the Peak Mountain “very soon” and that there was nothing Iran could do about it. “We will attack that area very soon, and with great force,” he warned.
However, Trump announced the day before that he has ordered a halt to the bombings against Iran to negotiate an agreement to end the conflict, although he threatened to resume attacks if the talks fail.
