Caracas.– Venezuela’s Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, called the Dominican government’s decision to authorize the United States to provisionally use two airports in Santo Domingo as part of the anti-drug operation Lanza del Sur a “imperial madness”.
During his weekly program “Con el mazo dando”, Cabello ironized about the authorization and stated that the US presence in the region is not new:
The Chavista leader also maintained that this type of decision is part of what he called imperial strategies that seek to justify military actions and surveillance operations in the area.
