San Pedro de Macorís.– A 33-year-old man passed away this Friday after being involved in a traffic accident that occurred on the highway connecting this municipality with Ramón Santana, near the Monte Cristi community.
The victim was identified as Alexis Mateo Pie, who died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a utility pole, leaving him trapped in the twisted metal of the car.
Search and Rescue units from the Civil Defense arrived at the scene, along with members of the Fire Department and the 9-1-1 National Emergency and Security Attention System, who worked on the efforts to recover the body.
