It was the <strong>first free newspaper in the country<\/strong> and also <strong>the first in the world to be delivered to the home at no cost to the reader<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded by the entrepreneur <strong>Arturo Pellerano<\/strong>, this innovative business model represented a great challenge in a market dominated by traditional newspapers. Its launch was a historic event, with the presence of three winners of the <strong>Nobel Peace Prize<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lech_Wa%C5%82%C4%99sa\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lech_Wa%C5%82%C4%99sa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lech Walesa<\/a><\/strong> (Poland)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mikhail Gorbachev<\/strong> (Russia)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u00d3scar Arias<\/strong> (Costa Rica)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, the newspaper&#8217;s first front page featured an exclusive interview with <strong>Lech Walesa<\/strong>, whose headline read: <em>&#8220;Fidel only has to shoot himself&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its inception, the newspaper has been committed to <strong>independent, truthful, and high-quality journalism<\/strong>, quickly establishing itself as the favorite media outlet of Dominicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Expansion and digital transformation of the newspaper Diario Libre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the years, Diario Libre evolved from a printed newspaper to a <strong>leading multimedia platform<\/strong>. In <strong>2002<\/strong>, it launched its web portal <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diariolibre.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.diariolibre.com<\/a><\/strong>, expanding its reach to the digital environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>2009<\/strong>, he introduced <strong>Diario Libre Metro<\/strong>, a more compact edition aimed at public transport users in Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, Diario Libre is the content company <strong>most followed by Dominicans<\/strong>, both inside and outside the country,
