Jos\u00e9 Nova <\/strong>is a prominent Dominican journalist with a solid academic background and a career spanning multiple communication platforms. Born in Santiago de los Caballeros<\/strong>, he is the son of Mar\u00eda Elena Mu\u00f1oz Tejada and Danilo Nova, and the youngest of four siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jos\u00e9 Manuel Nova Mu\u00f1oz, as his full name is, from an early age, Nova Mu\u00f1oz moved with his family to Santo Domingo<\/a><\/strong>, where he completed his primary and secondary studies. He graduated in Social Communication, Journalism major<\/strong>, at the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Santo Domingo (UASD)<\/strong> (2001-2007). Later, he expanded his knowledge with a master’s degree in Political Science<\/strong> (2016-2018) at the same institution, and is currently studying for a law degree<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His training also includes studies at the Otto Rivera School of Voice-Over<\/strong>, which reinforced his versatility as a communicator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginnings and Growth in Journalism of Jos\u00e9 Nova<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jos\u00e9 Nova began in the written press in 2005 as an intern at List\u00edn Diario<\/a><\/strong>, where he was a pioneer in the updating of the then emerging List\u00edn Diario Digital<\/a><\/strong>, a function for which he was recognized with the Journalist of the Year<\/strong> award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2007, he joined the El Caribe newspaper<\/a><\/strong>, where he specialized in entertainment journalism. In 2014, he was appointed editor of the Arts & Entertainment section<\/strong>, a position he held until January 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current role and contributions in media<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Nova Mu\u00f1oz is the deputy director of the digital media outlet De \u00daltimo Minuto<\/strong>, one of the most influential news portals in the Dominican Republic. He is also part of the production team for the program +De un Minuto<\/strong> and works as a university professor<\/strong> at the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM)<\/strong>, teaching subjects such as Media and Audiences, Project Management, Digital Communication<\/strong> and Public Relations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His career includes participation in radio and television, standing out as a presenter on the program “Esquina 37<\/strong>” and as a co-host of the space dParranda Radio Show<\/strong>, broadcast on stations such as S\u00faper Q<\/strong> and Dominicana FM<\/strong> until 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Affiliations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nova Mu\u00f1oz is an active member of the Asociaci\u00f3n de Cronistas de Arte (Acroarte)<\/strong> since 2012, where she has held positions such as Secretary of International Affairs (2015-2017)<\/strong> and Secretary of Finance (2019-2021)<\/strong>. She also belongs to the Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas (CDP)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
