San Diego (USA).- <\/strong>The United States Department of Justice<\/a><\/strong> filed this Tuesday in a San Diego (California) court charges of narco-terrorism<\/strong> against two leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel<\/strong>, which is the first time that terrorism charges linked to drug trafficking have been filed in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accused are Pedro Inzunza Noriega<\/strong> and his son Pedro Inzunza Coronel<\/strong>, accused of having trafficked tons of drugs to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Federal prosecutor Adam Gordon <\/strong>highlighted the historic indictment in a press conference. \u201cToday marks the first time charges have been brought against leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel for narco-terrorism and narco-terrorism materials, in connection with trafficking massive quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecution considers the narcotics that the Sinaloa cartel traffics to the United States as “materials for committing narcoterrorism.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charges are based on the executive order of the U.S. president<\/strong>, Donald Trump<\/a><\/strong>, who last February designated several Mexican drug cartels, including the Sinaloa cartel, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gordon said that to combat cartels as terrorist organizations, from the day he was appointed as prosecutor for the Southern District of California, last April 11, he formed a Narcoterrorism Unit that collaborated in the investigation and formulation of the charges filed today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official assured that from now on drug trafficking leaders will face “a hunt” from both their friends and their enemies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are going to pursue them until they finally face their destiny in a federal court in Southern California,\u201d the official stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The two defendants, Pedro Inzunza Noriega<\/strong>, known as Sagitario<\/strong>, and Pedro Inzunza Coronel, nicknamed El Pich\u00f3n, began trafficking cocaine from Colombia to the United States decades ago, according to court documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
