Eurovision 2025 has a winner<\/strong>: Austria has taken the crystal microphone thanks to JJ’s pop-opera proposal, Wasted Love<\/em>, which has conquered both the jury and the public with 436 points. But in Spain, the taste that the contest has left has not been so sweet. Melody, our representative, barely managed to get through to the voters<\/strong> and finished in 24th position, far from the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance of the Spanish artist, whom many considered to be one of the most vocally powerful, was not enough<\/strong> to capture the attention of the professional jury or the televote.<\/strong> Meanwhile, Israel surprised by placing in an unexpected second position<\/strong>, once again fueling the idea of whether Eurovision truly rewards musicality or if there are other factors at play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Israel came close to victory<\/strong> thanks to the support of the public, especially the Spanish. The Hebrew nation received the coveted 12 points from the televote in Spain<\/strong>, something that has surprised and that has reopened a new discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the first to give his opinion, and without mincing words, has been Pedro Ruiz<\/strong>. The veteran presenter, writer, and humorist launched this morning a message on his social media<\/strong> that has generated an intense debate: “The excess of promotion and self-importance invades me regarding the Eurovision Song Contest,” he stated.https:\/\/d-40467493524258020577.ampproject.net\/2504091801000\/frame.html<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he added: “I didn’t see it, but I’m already  perceiving it as something excessively artificial and politicized<\/strong>, like so many other things,” he wrote to his followers. Although he admits not having followed the contest this year, Pedro Ruiz  hasn’t held back in his criticism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a video posted on Instagram, Pedro Ruiz expanded on his reflection with his usual ironic tone.<\/strong> “Everything is politicized. Eurovision, travel, football, thought, the media…”, he began by saying while looking at the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immediately afterwards, he resorted to one of his most striking metaphors<\/strong>: “One day, we will go to do our needs, at that moment when we are so vulnerable, we will take the toilet paper<\/strong> and advertising will appear saying: ‘Vote for Manolo, the one who dirties the least, because we don’t know anything about the one who cleans the most’,” he stated, holding a roll of toilet paper in his hand to emphasize his criticism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
