“Yes, everyone wanted me to do it. I was thinking of saving it for the right moment that seemed right. And then, you know, the game went into overtime. So well, we’ll have to save it for later,”<\/em> Haliburton said in on-court statements to TNT at the end of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miller, who was at Madison Square Garden today, dedicated that same gesture to Spike Lee, a famous Knicks fan,<\/strong> after stringing together several decisive baskets in the fifth game of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals.<\/strong> Miller scored 39 points that day, 25 in the final quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Haliburton’s incredible basket tied the game at 125<\/strong> sending the game to overtime after the Pacers overcame a 14-point deficit in 2 minutes and 39 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I didn’t know how much time was left, so I just tried to calm down and take the shot. I thought it was a three, it didn’t work, but we made it in overtime,”<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haliburton, who scored 31 points<\/strong>, said that today’s result “is a great victory”<\/em>, but also said that the Pacers have “a lot to improve”.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don’t know how many rebounds they grabbed (the Knicks) in the end, but I feel like they dominated us there, and that’s an area where we wanted to excel. We weren’t good today, but we found a way to win. I’m very proud of this group,”<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knicks and Pacers will play the second game of the series this coming Friday again in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
