Brigitte Macron<\/strong>, maiden name Brigitte Marie-Claude Trogneux<\/strong>, was born in Amiens on April 13, 1953.<\/p>\n\n\nHer parents were Simone Pujol (1910\u20131998) and Jean Trogneux (1909\u20131994), the owners of the chocolate shop that was in the family’s hands for five generations,\u200b founded in 1872 in Amiens.\n\nBrigitte Macron holds a Master’s degree in Arts and a secondary school teaching certificate in French Language and Literature. She began her career in Paris, before teaching at the Coll\u00e8ge Lucie Berger in Strasbourg.\n\n\n

He returned to Amiens in 1991, where he taught French and Latin at the Lyc\u00e9e La Providence where he met Emmanuel Macron<\/strong> who attended the literature classes she taught and was also in charge of the theater classes in which Macron participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200b Their relationship was not seen as typical by the media, as she is 24 years older,<\/strong> therefore Macron described their relationship as “a love sometimes clandestine, hidden, incomprehensible to many until they know us”.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nIn 2007, she moved to Paris to teach at the Lyc\u00e9e Saint-Louis de Gonzague. On June 22, 1974, she married banker Andr\u00e9-Louis Auzi\u00e8re<\/strong> (1951-2019), with whom she had three children: S\u00e9bastien Auzi\u00e8re (b. 1975), engineer; Laurence Auzi\u00e8re-Jourdan (b. 1977), cardiologist; and Tiphaine Auzi\u00e8re (b. 1984), lawyer.<\/p>\n\n\nThey resided in Truchtersheim until 1991, when they moved to Amiens. They separated in 1994, divorced in 2006. Then she married Macron in Le Touquet on October 20, 2007.<\/strong>\n\n\n

Since 2016, Brigitte Macron joined her husband in the presidential campaign. Emmanuel Macron was elected President of the French Republic on May 7, 2017. She lives with him in the \u00c9lys\u00e9e Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2017, a “transparency charter regarding the status of the spouse of the Head of State<\/a>” was implemented, as promised by Emmanuel Macron during the presidential election campaign. For the first time, the spouse of the Head of State now has a defined role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
