San Cristobal<\/strong> \u2013 The Collegiate Court of this jurisdiction imposed a sentence of 40 years in prison<\/strong> on Danelvis Rivas Rodriguez<\/strong>, found guilty of the murder of Yan Carlos Serrano Toledo<\/strong> and his accomplice, Niky Esmerlin Morban de la Cruz<\/strong>, during a robbery perpetrated in February 2023 in the Madre Vieja Sur<\/strong> sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sentence was handed down after the accusation presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office<\/strong>, represented by prosecutors Wendy Mar\u00eda Mart\u00ednez Garabitos<\/strong> and \u00c1ngel F\u00e9lix Recio<\/strong>, who irrefutably demonstrated the defendant’s participation in the events, was fully accepted.<\/p>\n\n\nAccording to the indictment, Rivas Rodr\u00edguez associated with Morban de la Cruz (deceased), Antonio Pichardo Moreta<\/strong> (currently a fugitive), and other unidentified individuals, to commit a robbery at an investment business located on Eugenio Mar\u00eda de Hostos<\/strong> street.\n\n\n

During the robbery, which occurred on the afternoon of February 20, 2023<\/strong>, Rivas and his accomplice entered the establishment armed, threatening and assaulting those present. In the midst of the action, a shot accidentally went off from Rivas’s weapon, hitting Morban de la Cruz<\/strong> in the head and causing his instant death.<\/p>\n\n\nSubsequently, and deliberately, Rivas Rodr\u00edguez fired multiple shots at Yan Carlos Serrano Toledo<\/strong>, who also died at the scene. Everything was captured on the local security cameras.\n\n\n

After the crime, the accused tried to drag his accomplice’s body towards the motorcycle used to get to the scene, but finally left it abandoned. Subsequently, he fled with the motorcycle driver to the vicinity of the Zona Verde<\/strong> sector, where they boarded a KIA K5<\/strong> vehicle driven by Pichardo Moreta<\/strong>, with which they escaped.<\/p>\n\n\nThe court, composed of judges Rosa Edalia Mateo<\/strong>, Ana In\u00e9s Susana<\/strong> and Biulkys Milan\u00e9s<\/strong>, ruled that the defendant must serve the sentence imposed at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center<\/strong>.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
