Cleveland, Ohio<\/strong>. \u2014 The young Dominican \u00c1ngel Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> became the hero of the day for the Cleveland Guardians, by hitting a dramatic three-run home run in the eighth inning<\/strong> that sealed the 7-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers and avoided the sweep in the three-game series at Progressive Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mart\u00ednez, just 23 years old, showed why manager Stephen Vogt considers him a versatile and invaluable piece within the team. The home run, which was his first as a right-handed hitter in the Major Leagues, capped a memorable night both offensively and defensively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI approached it like any other at-bat,\u201d Mart\u00ednez commented after the game. \u201cI try to give them all the same importance, because my mentality is always to put myself in the position where I can help the team.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
