The newspaper indicates that the drug use of the CEO of Tesla<\/strong><\/a> “went far beyond the occasional” and that Musk took so much ketamine -a potent anesthetic with psychedelic properties and can cause dissociation from reality-, that it affected his bladder, an effect known from chronic use, according to the media.<\/p>\n\n\nIn the United States, ketamine<\/strong><\/a> is only approved as an anesthetic in medical procedures and can be prescribed for psychiatric disorders such as depression or anxiety.\n\n\n

Musk said in a 2017 post that he had had “major ups and downs, terrible lows and constant stress” and noted in a subsequent 2024 interview that he takes “a small amount” of ketamine, approximately once every two weeks, as a prescribed treatment for depression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The risks of this medication became very evident in the North American country following the death of actor Matthew Perry, known for his role in the series ‘Friends’.<\/p>\n\n\nThe NYT<\/strong> also highlights that Musk was traveling with a medication box containing about 20 pills, including some with the Adderall brand – a stimulant used for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.\n\nHowever, the newspaper points out that “it is not clear” if Musk, 53, continued this drug use once Trump arrived at the White House<\/strong> and appointed him as a figure in his cabinet with the task of ‘slimming down’ the administration.\n\n\n
