She is a renowned <strong>lawyer, politician, and public servant<\/strong>, with an outstanding career in state administration, youth advocacy, and citizen participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Background<\/h2>\n\n\nKaren Ricardo is a <strong>graduate of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/historia\/universidades\/historia-uasd\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/historia\/universidades\/historia-uasd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Santo Domingo (UASD)<\/a><\/strong> with a degree in Law. He has complemented his academic profile with the <strong>Leadership for Public Management<\/strong> program from Barna Management School, with internships at <strong>Georgetown University<\/strong>, in the United States.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Political Career<\/h2>\n\n\nKaren Ricardo began her political career as a <strong>deputy to the National Congress in 2006<\/strong>, being elected by the province of Santo Domingo. Its objective is to promote the labor insertion of young Dominicans, facilitating their transition to the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\nHe also led the creation of <strong>EMPOWER YOURSELF<\/strong>, a project that seeks to foster the direct link between citizens and Congress, promoting participation, dialogue, and the socialization of laws and legislative initiatives.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Public Management<\/h2>\n\n\nKaren Ricardo served as <strong>Deputy Director General of the National Office of Industrial Property (ONAPI)<\/strong>, from where she implemented important institutional reforms. Later, she was appointed as <strong>Director General of Special Programs of the Presidency (DIGEPEP)<\/strong> by decree 18-20 in the year 2020.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this function, Karen Ricardo directed the <strong>Quisqueya Aprende Contigo National Literacy Plan<\/strong>, <strong>Quisqueya Empieza Contigo<\/strong> and <strong>Quisqueya Digna<\/strong>, government programs focused on social inclusion, education, and the dignification of the living conditions of thousands of Dominicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Personal Life and Political Commitment<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>She is <strong>married<\/strong> and is the <strong>mother of two children<\/strong>.
