Rodr\u00edguez did not hesitate to point out who, according to him, is the best right-handed hitter he has seen: \u201cHis name is Manny Ram\u00edrez. And I don’t say that just because I played with him too much, but also with Albert Pujols. “For me, they are one and two in history\u201d<\/strong>, he expressed in the episode of the podcast Emprendedores with the Minister of Tourism David Collado. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former player took the opportunity to relive what he considers the best moment of his career: November 3, 2009<\/strong>, when the Yankees won their 27th championship against the Philadelphia Phillies. \u201cAll the reasons I went to the Yankees was to bring a championship to New York.\u201d I remember Mariano Rivera pitching, Jorge Posada behind the plate, and Robinson Can\u00f3 making the last out\u2026 there were all my childhood dreams,\u201d<\/strong> he recalled emotionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also shared a curious episode that occurred in 1996, when a rival manager, Davey Johnson<\/strong>, asked for his bat to be checked in the middle of his at-bat, during an offensive hot streak that would lead him to win the batting title that year. \u201cI knew it was a mental game. The umpire told me: \u2018Alex, I’m sorry, I have to take your bat.\u2019 They confiscated it, sent it to the Commissioner’s office, but in the end I used another one and hit a home run anyway,\u201d<\/strong> he recounted with laughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rodr\u00edguez also offered an inspiring message to young people who dream of going far in sports:
\u201cI always say that you are the average of the five people you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with good people, because that defines who you are and who you will be.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex Rodriguez concluded with words of respect towards figures like David Ortiz<\/strong> and Pedro Martinez<\/strong>, urging the new generations to take care of their surroundings and stay focused if they wish to achieve success in professional baseball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
