Moscow.-<\/strong> The Kremlin<\/strong> called this Tuesday not to expect immediate results after the second round of negotiations with Ukraine<\/strong> held in Istanbul<\/strong>, during which the parties exchanged memorandums with their vision for the end of the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It would be a mistake to expect immediate decisions and progress. But the work is underway. Certain agreements were reached in Istanbul that are important<\/strong>,” said the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov<\/strong>, in his daily telephone press briefing.<\/p>\n\n\nPeskov added that it is, in the first place, about “the people”, in reference to a new pact for the largest exchange of prisoners since the beginning of the war in 2022.\n\n\n

“These agreements will be fulfilled and the work will continue,” he insisted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nAt the same time, he emphasized that Russia is currently awaiting the Ukrainian response to the Russian memorandum for the settlement of the conflict with the neighboring country.\n\n\n

That document, delivered yesterday to the Ukrainian delegation, chaired by the Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, foresees in particular the recognition by Kiev of the Russian annexation of five Ukrainian territories: Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.<\/p>\n\n\nIt also demands the holding of new elections in Ukraine and the reduction of its army to limits that do not pose a threat to Moscow, among other conditions.\n\n\n

Regarding the possibility of making concessions within the framework of these negotiations<\/strong>, the Kremlin spokesman indicated that this is a topic that cannot be discussed in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
