Bonao.- <\/strong>In an act of unity and determination, various neighborhood associations and social groups from the municipality of Bonao held a picket demonstration at the Boca de Yuboa crossing, demanding the immediate construction of a box culvert in that area, as well as urgent solutions to the road infrastructure problems affecting multiple communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demonstration, organized and led by the renowned community leader Richard Ram\u00edrez, was supported by the Frente de Lucha Barrial (FRELUB) and the Comisi\u00f3n Provincial de Gesti\u00f3n y Desarrollo (CPGD), along with numerous neighborhood organizations that gathered from the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the gathering, the Hogar de Ni\u00f1as and the Boca de Yuboa Neighborhood Council also participated, joining the demands for a prompt response from the authorities. A large number of people reside in this community, and, daily, more than 20 girls travel to their educational centers, risking their safety due to the lack of an adequate bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the main demands is a definitive solution for the communities of Los Guayabos, Delicia Abajo and Platanitos, which face serious access difficulties due to the lack of a bridge. Likewise, the protesters demanded the urgent asphalting of streets in different areas of the municipality, especially in the Mar\u00eda Auxiliadora sector, where road conditions have been described as critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Police was present at the gathering, under the supervision of the Cibao Sur Regional Directorate, commanded by Colonel P\u00e9rez, ensuring order during the protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the activity, the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) and the Ministry of Environment were held directly responsible for the consequences that may arise from the lack of action in the face of these problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With banners, slogans, and massive participation from community members, the demonstration highlighted the level of concern and weariness of the population in the face of what they have called “the institutional abandonment of Bonao.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
