With an initial investment of 2.245 billion dollars, Cabo Rojo<\/a><\/strong>, in the province of Pedernales, is emerging as a benchmark for sustainable tourism in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This megaproject includes the construction of an international airport, over 10,000 hotel rooms, commercial and residential areas, as well as tourist and port infrastructure, including a cruise ship port that has already received significant vessels since 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development is guided by strict sustainability criteria, with active programs for the conservation of native flora and fauna, supported by the Ministry of Environment<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, the National Botanical Garden, and local organizations. Among these initiatives, the Cabo Rojo Nursery stands out, which preserves and relocates native species before construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simultaneously, the modification of Law 36-24 seeks to optimize the management of tourism development through the Cabo Rojo Tourism Corporation<\/strong>, strengthening the legal framework and offering tax incentives to investors.<\/p>\n\n\nAuthorities and investors are clear that the success of the megaproject depends on the balance between investment, environmental conservation, and social well-being.\n\n\n
