At any age, only 102 players<\/strong> in the history of Major League Baseball have managed to hit 350 home runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to the home run milestone, Machado is only 29 hits away from 2,000<\/strong>, which puts him in line to enter an even more exclusive club. Only 11 players<\/strong> have recorded both marks \u20142,000 hits and 350 home runs\u2014 before concluding their season at age 32. Eight of them are already members of the Hall of Fame<\/strong>: Hank Aaron, Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Ken Griffey Jr., Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Mel Ott<\/strong> and Frank Robinson<\/strong>. The other three are contemporary figures not yet eligible: Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols<\/strong> and Alex Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\nThe Dominican, considered one of the best third basemen of his generation, seems to be moving steadily towards Cooperstown<\/strong>. In the immediate future, he is also enjoying a great offensive moment: after his home run in the third inning, Machado has a batting average of .316<\/strong> with an OPS of .879<\/strong>.
