Colombia.-<\/strong> Miguel Uribe Turbay<\/strong> (Bogot\u00e1, January 28, 1986 – August 11, 2025) was a lawyer, politician and was a candidate for the Senate of the Republic of Colombia<\/a><\/strong> for the Democratic Center<\/strong> party, as well as a pre-candidate for the presidency<\/strong> for the 2026 elections. With a career marked by tragedy, public service and firm opposition to left-wing currents, Uribe has established himself as one of the most influential figures in the contemporary Colombian political spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Origin and Family Tragedy<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\nHe was born into a family deeply connected to politics and journalism. He is the son of the journalist Diana Turbay<\/strong>, who was murdered in 1991 during a failed rescue attempt after being kidnapped by the narcoterrorist group Los Extraditables<\/strong>, led by Pablo Escobar<\/strong>. His mother was the daughter of the former Colombian president Julio C\u00e9sar Turbay Ayala<\/strong> (1978-1982), of Lebanese origin, and the philanthropist Nydia Quintero<\/strong>.
