\u201cThank you for loving my father. God bless you. My father’s memory will never be forgotten. His legacy will always be exposed and remembered. He is at peace here, I feel it. He has always been fine, but he would be better. I love you daddy\u201d, said Mari D\u00edaz, the artist’s daughter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nColleagues and friends from El Terror, such as Jos\u00e9 Duluc, Luis M\u00e9ndez Pe\u00f1a, and Irka Mateo, sang different pieces in honor of his memory, including “Suite Folcl\u00f3rica” and “En tu d\u00eda Madre”.\n\n\n

The video, widely shared on social media, provoked strong reactions among artists and public figures. The singer Sergio Vargas wrote on his social media: \u201cHonor to whom honor is due. One of the most renowned folklorists of our country\u2026 your legacy will not die, Luis D\u00edas. Fly high, TERROR!\u201d. Other artists also expressed their sorrow for the conditions in which his former dwelling was found, which prompted an institutional response.\n\nSubsequently, executives from Funeraria Blandino proposed to cover all the expenses of exhumation, cremation, and transfer so that the remains of Luis D\u00edas could be buried in the Puerta del Cielo Cemetery, who in turn donated the columbarium where the remains of Luis Terror D\u00edas now rest. This heritage cemetery is recognized as a space of memory and honor for great figures of national life. Personalities such as Ruby Perez, Freddy Beras Goico, Yaqui N\u00fa\u00f1ez del Risco, Carlos Piantini, Antonio Imbert Barreras, Socorro Castellanos, among others, also rest there.\n\nChris Calder\u00f3n, artist and communicator, representing Radio Bizarro, highlighted “for us it is a huge honor to be part of the history of a transcendental figure in Dominican music. None of this would have been possible without the support of our listeners and their power of repercussion and transformation.”\n\nIn turn, Dominican folklorist Irka Mateo paid tribute, stating that “we played together and did research together. Luis deserved to be in a dignified place for his memory and to have a dignified rest. Besides everything, he was a person who exceeded his contribution. He left us so much and so much that the current generations continue to study what he left.”\n\nAlso, the prominent folklorist and composer Jos\u00e9 Duluc, a close friend of Luis D\u00edaz, maintained that many young people are currently drawing from El Terror’s contributions to Dominican music and culture, so it is important to continue his legacy and preserve his memory.\n\nThe Puerta del Cielo Cemetery Park offers guided tours for its visitors in order to remember, disseminate, and preserve the historical legacy of the great Dominican personalities who rest there.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
