SANTO DOMINGO<\/strong>.\u2013 With a firm voice and contained emotions, Guillermo Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, husband of Marisol Lora de Jes\u00fas<\/strong>, one of the fatalities of the collapse at the entertainment center Jet Set<\/strong>, appeared this Tuesday before judge F\u00e1tima Veloz<\/strong> to demand justice.<\/p>\n\n\nDuring his testimony, Mu\u00f1oz maintained that the owners of the establishment, the brothers Antonio and Maribel Espaillat<\/strong>, knew of the structural risks<\/strong> presented by the premises, although he admitted that they could not foresee the exact moment of the collapse nor are they accused of having directly caused it.\n\n\n

\u201cI am sure that Mr. Espaillat, wherever he is, says to himself: \u2018if I had listened to what they told me\u2019\u201d, Mu\u00f1oz expressed with regret before the magistrate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe mourner emphasized what he called an “eminent negligence”<\/strong>, referring to prior warnings about the state of the infrastructure, which \u2014according to him\u2014 were ignored by those responsible for the place.\n\n\n

“It is in your hands to do justice and punish those responsible for this, if you are aware of what has happened,” he concluded, addressing the judge directly.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe case of the collapse at Jet Set, which left more than 230 fatalities and 189 injured<\/strong>, has shaken public opinion and continues its judicial course with attention focused on the responsibility of the owners and administrators of the historic nightclub.\n\n\n

Measures that, in the opinion of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, are disproportionate to the tragedy.\n\n\n
