<\/p>\n\n\nSanto Domingo. The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, delivered this Tuesday 220 million pesos to the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) for the preparation of the athletes who will represent the country in the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.\n\n\n

In addition to Minister Cruz, the event was chaired by engineer Garibaldy Bautista, president of the Olympic organization; Jos\u00e9 Monegro, president of the Organizing Committee of the games, and other personalities.\n\nThe delivery of resources was made by disposition of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who wishes that the athletes receive on time everything necessary to have the best performance in the sporting event.\n\nThe Minister of Sports highlighted the president’s effort and support so that no effort is spared in forming a delegation that puts the country at the highest level.\n\nCruz stated that, in addition to financial resources, a substantial investment is also being made in the repair and construction of sports facilities that will serve as the stage for the different competitions.\n\nHe recalled that the country has a great commitment to the organization of these games, while highlighting the presence of the presidents of the different sports federations.\n\nCruz pointed out that work is being done in coordination with the Ministry of Housing, the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, and the COD to ensure the success of the multi-sport event.\n\n\n

About the Games<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 will be held from July 24 to August 8.\n\nSince its debut at the V Regional Games in Barranquilla in 1946, the Dominican Republic has participated 18 times and is preparing to host a multi-sport event of this type for the third time.\n\nThe Dominican Republic hosted the XII edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1974, from February 27 to March 13 in Santo Domingo, as well as the XV version, from June 24 to July 5, 1986 in Santiago.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
