{"id":472909,"date":"2025-06-25T16:10:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T20:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/cntt-president-supports-alternating-work-schedules-as-a-measure-to-improve-traffic-in-the-country\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T16:11:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T20:11:11","slug":"cntt-president-supports-alternating-work-schedules-as-a-measure-to-improve-traffic-in-the-country","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/dominican-news\/cntt-president-supports-alternating-work-schedules-as-a-measure-to-improve-traffic-in-the-country\/","title":{"rendered":"CNTT President supports alternating work schedules as a measure to improve traffic in the country"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santiago, D.R.<\/strong> \u2013 The president of the <strong>National Confederation of Transport Workers (CNTT)<\/strong>, <strong>Juan Marte<\/strong>, considered the <strong>alternation of schedules for workers in the public and private sectors<\/strong> as a viable solution to the mobility problems in the country, a measure that, in his opinion, would significantly contribute to improving traffic and transportation in cities such as Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Crist\u00f3bal, San Francisco de Macor\u00eds, Moca and San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, among others.<\/p>\n\n\nMarte expressed his hope that this and other actions contemplated within the <strong>120 points announced by the Government&#8217;s Transportation Cabinet<\/strong> will translate into real improvements for the transit system in the Dominican Republic.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You may be interested in:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/nacionales\/retiran-postes-caidos-puente-17\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"487171\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fallen poles removed from the 17th bridge; traffic flows normally<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nThe transport leader emphasized that the sector could <strong>improve immediately<\/strong> if the authorities focus on implementing <strong>efficient regulatory measures<\/strong>, instead of limiting themselves to inspection, which, according to him, has not yielded the expected results.\n\nHe recalled that the Dominican Republic, with a territorial extension of just <strong>48 thousand square kilometers<\/strong>, already has more than <strong>6 million motor vehicles<\/strong>, which makes it urgent to implement <strong>structural measures<\/strong>, including the <strong>construction of tunnels, overpasses and underpasses<\/strong>, to adapt the infrastructure to the growing vehicle fleet.\n\nLikewise, Juan Marte criticized the lack of sustainable policies in transit matters by the different governments, pointing out that <strong>no administration has given real priority to transportation<\/strong>, limiting itself to promoting projects that have failed.
