Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies approved in first reading, during the session of this Tuesday, the bill that modifies the Law on Public Purchases and Contracting, after declaring it urgent and freeing it from reading. The initiative is authored by deputies Franklin Ram\u00edrez, Dilenia Santos, Gabriela Abreu and Mar\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles.<\/p>\n\n\nThe project has a favorable report from the special commission that studied it and aims to introduce reforms to the legal framework that regulates public procurement in the country. The modifications range from the composition of the management and supervisory bodies to the principles, procedures, and rules governing the acquisition of goods, services, and works by the State.\n\nDuring the same session, the deputies approved in second reading the bill that establishes financial, educational, and professional incentives for medical specialists who practice in the country’s border zone. This measure seeks to encourage the permanence of medical personnel in provinces such as Pedernales, Independencia, El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a, Dajab\u00f3n, Montecristi, Santiago Rodr\u00edguez, and Bahoruco. The initiative now goes to the Senate of the Republic.\n\nIn addition, the resolution approving the agreement between the Government of the Dominican Republic and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on Air Services between and beyond their respective territories, signed in Dubai on November 3, 2014, was ratified.\n\nLegislators also validated the resolution approving the Framework Agreement on the establishment of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), signed in New Delhi, India, on September 13, 2022.\n\n\n
