Santo Domingo<\/strong>.\u2013 The Minister of the Presidency, Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Paliza,<\/strong> carried out a supervision tour this Monday of the facilities of the Las Am\u00e9ricas International Airport \u2013 Jos\u00e9 Francisco Pe\u00f1a G\u00f3mez (AILA), together with the director of the Airport Department, V\u00edctor Pichardo, <\/strong>to verify the progress of the projects executed by AERODOM, as part of the commitments made in the concession contract.<\/p>\n\n\nDuring the visit, the authorities inspected the intervened spaces and confirmed the beginning of the works for the construction of a new passenger terminal, which represents an investment of more than 250 million dollars. This modern infrastructure will be ready by the year 2028 and will have capacity for 4 million passengers annually.\n\n\n

You may be interested in<\/strong>:Council of Ministers of the Spanish Government<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n“A future airport is of vital importance for Dominicans, with vision, sustainability and the firm conviction that infrastructure is key to our development and competitiveness,” expressed Minister Paliza after concluding the tour.\n\nSimilarly, Pichardo highlighted that this work in progress is “a modern, sustainable infrastructure aligned with global standards, marking a milestone in the airport development of the Dominican Republic.”\n\nIn addition to the new terminal building, other works were supervised, such as the remodeling of the arrivals area, roofs, facades, lighting and air conditioning systems, as well as the expansion of the long-term parking lot, currently in its final construction phase.\n\nFor its part, VINCI Airports reported that it has completed the construction of a 3,600 m\u00b2 canopy in the north terminal, designed to collect rainwater, as well as a new 1.5 MWP solar plant installed on the roof of the building, with the purpose of optimizing the energy efficiency of the airport.\n\nWith these advances, Las Am\u00e9ricas International Airport is consolidated as the main air gateway to the country, reaffirming its strategic role in international connectivity and national economic development.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
