<\/p>\n\n\nTORONTO<\/strong> \u2014 After a tough sweep suffered at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone opted for a serene approach to motivate his team, urging them to remain calm amid a losing streak that has sparked concern among fans.\n\n\n

The Blue Jays (49-38) took the top spot, while New York now shares second place with the Rays.\n\nUnlike an explosive episode in 2021, Boone opted this time for a measured message in the locker room. According to infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr., the manager reminded his players that they are still “the best team in the league” and that they should ignore the external noise.\n\n\n

\u201cWe knew we were going to hit a bump,\u201d Chisholm commented. \u201cThe message was clear: let’s ignore the outside and focus on what we know how to do when we get back home.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Since May 28, when they had a seven-game lead in their division, the Yankees have lost 14 of 20 games. Boone, however, emphasized that it’s not time to panic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere’s no need to be alarmed,\u201d Boone affirmed. \u201cThis is a group prepared to compete. We know that if we keep doing things right, the results will come. We are going to keep working hard, like every day of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe team captain, Aaron Judge, also asked to keep things in perspective:\n\n\n

\u201cYou can’t panic. It doesn’t help at all,\u201d he pointed out. \u201cNow comes a big series against the Mets. We must focus on what’s coming and on improving day by day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nSome players admitted to feeling frustration, such as reliever Luke Weaver, but vowed not to let that affect their performance. Starter Clarke Schmidt recalled that these types of streaks are common:\n\n\n

\u201cIn almost every season there is a stretch like this. This will also pass. The team is being tested, but that can strengthen us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nBoone concluded by reiterating his faith in the group:\n\n\n

\u201cWe will stick together. This adversity will make us stronger. The most important thing is how we respond. And I know this team will respond\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
