“The focus remains rescue and reunification,” assured Jonathan Lamb, the police chief of Kerville, epicenter of the tragedy, this Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nLamb also confirmed that five girls and a monitor are still missing after the river’s rise went through the Mystic summer camp.\n\nLocal authorities have been questioned by residents and experts for not having ordered the evacuation of areas near the river, despite the heavy rains, as well as the fact that the camp monitors were not coordinated via walkie-talkies.\n\n\n
