Minnesota Lynx forward, Napheesa Collier<\/strong>, was the standout figure of the night, scoring 36 points<\/strong>, setting a record in this type of match and deservedly taking the title of MVP<\/strong>.\n\nIndiana Fever star, Caitlin Clark<\/strong>, and Collier were chosen as All-Star captains after leading the popular vote. Clark received the most votes (1,293,526), although a groin injury kept her out of the competition. Even so, she had a key role in the selection of the teams, as did Collier.\n\nThe festivities kicked off on Friday the 18th with a dominant performance by the New York Liberty players. Sabrina Ionescu<\/strong> won her second three-point contest<\/strong> in three years, while Natasha Cloud<\/strong> took the title in the skills challenge<\/strong>. It’s the first time that two players from the same team have won both events in the same edition.\n\n\n

Injuries Tarnish the Event<\/h3>\n\n\nSeveral stars were unable to participate due to injuries. In addition to Clark, Rhyne Howard<\/strong> (knee) and Satou Sabally<\/strong> were out of the game.
