El Seibo.\u2013<\/strong> Mrs. Erika Santana went to the editorial office of De \u00daltimo Minuto <\/strong>this Tuesday to file a complaint about the theft of 30 high-genetic bulls, which occurred in the community of Paso Col\u00f3n, in the province of El Seibo. According to her, the animals, owned by her father Ram\u00f3n Antonio Santana, are valued at more than 3 million pesos, and were stolen in a single night, which they presume is the work of an organized gang of cattle rustlers.<\/p>\n\n\nAs part of the efforts to recover the animals, the family is offering a reward of RD$300,000 to anyone who can provide reliable and verifiable information that leads to the whereabouts of the livestock or those responsible for the act. We want the authorities to act firmly. This can’t keep happening,” Santana expressed with indignation. The theft would have occurred last Tuesday in the early hours of the morning, when those responsible are presumed to have used trucks to extract the cattle through an area bordering a river. The animals were on a farm destined for fattening and were duly marked with the initials “R.A.S.”.\n\nErika reported that, despite having formalized the complaint and visiting multiple institutions (including the Police, military authorities, and media), the livestock has not been located, nor have specific individuals been identified. “They have questioned people, some have even turned themselves in voluntarily, but they release them immediately and do not investigate thoroughly,” she explained.\n\nThe most alarming thing, as pointed out, is that this is not an isolated incident. In the area of Paso Col\u00f3n and surrounding communities, cattle theft occurs frequently and, according to residents’ testimonies, there is an active animal trafficking network that has been operating for years without being dismantled. “We don’t just want our bulls to reappear, we want this network that is affecting dozens of ranchers to be stopped,” demanded Santana.\n\nThe livestock community in the East remains attentive to the development of this case, which has once again highlighted the vulnerability of the agricultural sector to cattle theft and the urgent need for greater rural security.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
