This was stated by <em>Hostos Jos\u00e9 Rizik Lugo<\/em>, general director of RDVIAL, during his participation in the <em>Business Forums 2025: Governmental Management, Challenges, Objectives and Goals<\/em>, organized by Gala Media Group.\n\n<em>Rizik Lugo<\/em>\u00a0 explained that the RDVIAL trust, created in 2013, has been key to managing the income from the country&#8217;s 17 toll booths in an agile and transparent manner. These resources finance the construction of new roads and the maintenance of the existing network, optimizing road connectivity nationwide.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You can also see: <a href=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/nacionales\/map-impulsa-modernizacion-del-estado-y-crea-sistema-unificado-de-nomina-publica\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/nacionales\/map-impulsa-modernizacion-del-estado-y-crea-sistema-unificado-de-nomina-publica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Government details plan to modernize public administration: Payroll control, civil service reform and teleworking<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Iconic road infrastructure projects under construction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the most relevant works delivered or under construction are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Azua Ring Road.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sections one and two of the Ecological Avenue, plus section three under construction that will connect with Las Am\u00e9ricas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ban\u00ed Ring Road, which is scheduled to open on August 12.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navarrete and San Francisco de Macor\u00eds Ring Roads.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Barahona-Enriquillo and Enriquillo-Pedernales highways, vital for connecting the deep south with the Cabo Rojo tourism project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expansion and intervention of the Duarte Highway, a long-term project under execution for several years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\nAn important milestone is the completion of the southern circuit, which will allow travel from Plaza de la Bandera to Barahona in 174 kilometers without traffic lights, a shorter distance than that from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana.\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maintenance and modernization of the road network<\/h3>\n\n\nIn addition to building new roads, the government is developing a comprehensive maintenance plan based on four pillars:\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Asphalt quality:<\/strong> pothole repair and preventive maintenance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Modern signage:<\/strong> placement of innovative vertical and horizontal signage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Road lighting:<\/strong> installation of lighting systems from toll booths to critical areas and town accesses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Road cleaning:<\/strong> the <em>Clean Roads<\/em> program will eliminate improvised landfills and weeds, starting with the Las Am\u00e9ricas Highway, the 9 de Noviembre and the Duarte Highway.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technological Innovation in Tolls<\/h3>\n\n\nThe Paso R\u00e1pido toll system is undergoing a renovation with new reading antennas and universal devices installed in all lanes, including those for cash payment. Currently, 54% of the collections come from Paso R\u00e1pido, supported by a national campaign that encourages its adoption.\n\nIn addition, cybersecurity measures have been incorporated, such as verification codes to log in and top up with a credit card, protecting users&#8217; data against potential cyberattacks.
