Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/strong> Judge Rigoberto Sena, from the Permanent Attention Office of the National District, <\/strong>imposed this Monday three months of preventive detention as a coercive measure against Alexander Le\u00f3n, accused of attempting to murder his ex-partner, Yoselin S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, in an incident that occurred on the night of January 21, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\nThe court assessed the elements presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the victim’s complaint, determining that there was criminal planning “of a high level of perversity”, as explained by the plaintiff’s lawyer, Carlos Mesa, who affirmed that “justice has been done” with the decision.\n\n\n

He added that Le\u00f3n carried out at least five violent acts on different dates, and that the attempted murder was the culmination of a systematic pattern of abuse.\n\nThe lawyer also reported that after the attack, Le\u00f3n remained a fugitive for more than a year (exactly 367 days) during which he continued to threaten Yoselin, her family and even her youngest son. “That person represents a real danger. He is a monster. He cannot return to the streets,” he stated.\n\nFor her part, Yoselin S\u00e1nchez stated she felt relieved by the measure, but reiterated her fear that her aggressor would try to kill her again. “If they let him go, he’ll come to kill me. Even from where he is, he continues to threaten my child. I hope he serves the 30 years he deserves,” she expressed with a firm voice and a serene face.\n\nThe judge ordered the immediate transfer of the accused to the National Penitentiary of La Victoria.
