Washington.\u2013<\/strong> The President of the United States<\/strong>, Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>, admitted this Tuesday that the migrants deported by his administration are \u201cdifficult to replace\u201d, especially in key sectors such as agriculture, where they perform functions that, according to him, U.S. citizens are not willing to perform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They can’t be easily replaced,”<\/strong> the president stated in an interview with CNBC. “The people who live in the cities don’t do that work. We’ve tried. They don’t do it. These people (migrants) do it naturally,” he added, referring to deported migrants as part of his immigration policy.<\/p>\n\n\nThe Republican acknowledged that deportations could be affecting the economy, especially after the publication of the most recent employment report, which showed a drop of 1.7 million foreign jobs between March and July. Although he maintained that his administration is “removing criminals,”<\/strong> he also clarified that he is working with farmers so that they are not harmed by the massive departure of deported migrants.\n\n\n

\u201cThey are a very important part of this country and we are not going to do anything that harms farmers,\u201d he said, adding that his government is preparing new rules and regulations to regularize certain farm workers.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In some cases, we are sending them back to their countries with a permit<\/strong>, so that they can return legally. And we are doing things that are very difficult to do, but that work very well,” he explained.\n\nThe president had previously acknowledged that his immigration policy impacts sectors such as agriculture, hospitality, and leisure<\/strong>.
