Continued strengthening is forecast after that time,” the NHC warned in its report.\n\nThe forecast acknowledged that “there is uncertainty” about Erin’s trajectory,<\/strong> which emerged on Monday as a tropical storm west of the Cape Verde islands in Africa, but recommended being alert in the Caribbean islands and on the east coast of the United States.\n\nFor now, the phenomenon is 820 miles or 1,315 kilometers west of the Cape Verde Islands, and 1,765 miles or 2,835 kilometers east of the North Soleavona Islands, with maximum winds of 45 miles per hour or 75 kilometers per hour, according to the latest update from the NCH.\n\n\n
