Santo Domingo.-<\/strong> The Second Collegiate Tribunal of the National District<\/strong> will issue tomorrow, Wednesday, the sentence against the defendants in the case of alleged administrative corruption dismantled in the so-called Antipulpo operation,<\/strong> including Alexis and Carmen Magalys Medina, siblings of the former President of the Republic Danilo Medina.<\/p>\n\n\nThe hearing will begin at 11:00 a.m., according to what was established by the court on July 30th.\n\n\n

You may be interested in: <\/strong>Postponed until Wednesday trial against alleged involved in Antipulpo<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nThe Public Ministry requested the court to impose a 20-year prison sentence against Alexis Medina, as well as the payment of 400 minimum wages, while for Jos\u00e9 Dolores Santana Carmona and Wacal Vernabel M\u00e9ndez Pineda it requested 15 years in prison and the payment of 200 minimum wages.\n\nLikewise, 10 years in prison for the former president of the Patrimonial Fund of Reformed Companies (Fonper) Fernando Rosa and for the former administrative vice president of that entity Carmen Magalys Medina.\n\nA similar penalty was requested against Carlos Jos\u00e9 Alarc\u00f3n, Ram\u00f3n Brea Morel (Jhonny Brea), and Lina Ercilia de la Cruz Vargas.\n\nSimilarly, the Public Ministry requested 10 years in prison and the payment of 200 minimum wages for Libni Arodi Valenzuela Matos, Paola Mercedes Molina Suazo, Carlos Mart\u00edn Montes de Oca, Rigoberto Alc\u00e1ntara Batista, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Genao Torres, Antonio Florentino M\u00e9ndez, Fulvio Antonio Cabreja G\u00f3mez and Jos\u00e9 Idelfonso Correa Mart\u00ednez.\n\nRegarding Pachristy Emmanuel Ram\u00edrez Pacheco, former Minister of Public Health Freddy Hidalgo, and former Comptroller of the Republic Rafael Antonio Germos\u00e9n, he requested five years of prison and the payment of 200 minimum wages.\n\nThe Public Ministry also requested a three-year sentence against Aquiles Alejandro Cristopher S\u00e1nchez, auditor of the Office of Engineers Supervisors of State Works (Oisoe).\n\nThe justice system’s body requested that all defendants be sentenced to disqualification from contracting with the State and from holding public office for 10 years, to the seizure of all assets seized as a result of illicit activities, and to civic degradation consisting of the loss of civil, political, and citizenship rights recognized by the Constitution.\n\nRegarding V\u00edctor Mat\u00edas Encarnaci\u00f3n Montero, who reached an agreement with the Public Ministry, he requested a suspended sentence of five years in prison and a fine of 500 minimum wages.\n\nAccording to the Public Ministry, Alexis Medina allegedly led a corruption network involving his sister Carmen Magalys and several former officials, privileged suppliers, and front men, who took advantage of their ties to political power to enrich themselves through illicit activities to the detriment of the State.\n\nThe prosecuting body asserts that the defendant headed an alleged corruption scheme that defrauded the Dominican State through Oisoe and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).\n\nThe Oisoe, dissolved in 2021, was the epicenter of corruption where Alexis Medina, with the complicity of high-ranking officials, executed a fraudulent scheme that included the purchase of contracts, the notification of fictitious credit assignments, and the irregular awarding of public works, always according to the accusation.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
