Panama City.-<\/strong> The Government of Ecuador<\/strong> officially ratified the exclusion of Panama from its list of tax havens, following the signing of a bilateral agreement<\/strong> for the exchange of tax information, as reported this Friday by the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\nThe Panamanian Chancellery highlighted -in a statement- that the measure was formalized in a resolution issued on August 15, “one day after the General Directorate of Revenue of Panama<\/strong><\/a> and the Internal Revenue Service (SRI)<\/strong> of Ecuador” signed a tax information exchange agreement.\n\nThe statement details that the agreement, signed on Thursday, August 14th, “is the result of bilateral negotiations aimed at reinforcing fiscal cooperation and strengthening transparency in tax matters.”\n\nAccording to the Panamanian Government, the decision responds “to Panama’s commitment to fiscal transparency<\/strong>, in particular with the automatic and on-demand exchange of information, as well as with the application of international standards in the matter.”\n\n\n
