The vice president called on parents and guardians to actively involve themselves in the education of their children. “Education is a shared commitment between the family, teachers, and the State; together we will move towards a more just and equitable society,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\nIn the province of Santiago, a total of 587 schools, distributed in more than 8 thousand classrooms, will receive the 250 thousand students enrolled in this school year.\n\nThe event was attended by the regional director of Education, Pedro Pablo Marte; the provincial governor, Rosa Santos; the mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodr\u00edguez; the vice minister of Education, Julio Cordero; the director of the host educational center, Mercedes V\u00e9loz; and the student Melani Sir\u00ed, who spoke on behalf of the student community.\n\nWith this act, the Government formally initiated the school day in a province that represents one of the main academic axes of the country, amid a renewed commitment to strengthen the integral formation of Dominican children and youth.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
