With pride, the group of multidisciplinary dancers brought to the stage a vibrant program that projected the Dominican cultural identity and captivated the Japanese and international audience.\n\nThe cultural show directed by H\u00e9ctor Far\u00edas offered a staging that combined tradition, art, and Dominican culture, where the audience applauded the repertoire that included iconic pieces such as Compadre Pedro Juan, Carabine, Las Siete Pasadas and Bachata en Fukuoka, performed with great interpretative force and accompanied by the live music of Josean Jacobo and his orchestra.\n\n\n

It was a cultural encounter full of respect and admiration for our roots. This moment demonstrates that Dominican dance has a place in the world,” said H\u00e9ctor Far\u00edas, artistic director of the BDE.\n\nThe official delegation of the Dominican Republic was headed by the Minister of the Presidency, Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Paliza, accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Roberto \u00c1ngel Salcedo; the Vice Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hugo Fco. Rivera; the Vice Minister of Culture, Amaury S\u00e1nchez; the Executive Director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro; and the Dominican ambassador to Japan, Edward P\u00e9rez Reyes.\n\nWith this performance, the dance company reaffirmed its status as the first Dominican international dance company and consolidated its role as a cultural ambassador of the nation, after a career that exceeds 3,500 performances in Europe, with a team composed of the multidisciplinary dancers: Carolin Ag\u00fcero Madera, Yohsanna Mar\u00eda Robles Mer\u00e1n, Sabrina Thais Mel\u00e9ndez Hilario, Nelsy Esmeralda, Carol Brito, David Arturo G\u00f3mez Arias, Jefry Steury Feliz de Le\u00f3n, Jehan Molina Brito and Engels Jos\u00e9 M\u00e9ndez Montero.\n\n“This achievement is not just ours, it belongs to all Dominicans. Every time we go on stage, we proudly carry our flag and our culture. This presentation at the Osaka Expo will be unforgettable for us,” concluded Far\u00edas.\n\nThe event also featured the participation of the Ecological Devils of San Crist\u00f3bal and Los Broncos de La Vega, adding color and authenticity to the celebration, making it an integral display of Dominican identity.\n\nThe programming for Dominican Republic National Day at the prestigious fair included a flag-raising ceremony, institutional speeches, visits to the Dominican pavilion, and a cultural show produced by H\u00e9ctor Far\u00edas, with the stellar participation of the Dominican Ballet in Europe (BDE), accompanied by pianist Josean Jacobo and his orchestra, as well as the carnival display of the traditional Ecological Devils of San Crist\u00f3bal by Luis Rivas and Los Broncos de La Vega.\n\n\n

About the Dominican Ballet in Europe<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2015, the Dominican Ballet in Europe is the first professional Dominican dance company established abroad. Under the direction of H\u00e9ctor Far\u00edas and Engels M\u00e9ndez, the group has carried out more than 3,500 artistic and cultural activities in different European countries, promoting, safeguarding and disseminating national folklore to thousands of spectators.<\/p>\n\n\nThrough its presentations and projects, the Dominican Ballet in Europe (BDE) has honorably represented the Dominican Republic in important festivals and institutional events, showcasing the richness, diversity, and authenticity, and contributing significantly to the strengthening of cultural ties.\n\nThe dance company, which has multidisciplinary dancers, has contributed to the positive projection of the Dominican Republic in the international arena through its young talented members; Carolin Ag\u00fcero Madera, Yohsanna Mar\u00eda Robles Mer\u00e1n, Sabrina Thais Mel\u00e9ndez Hilario, Nelsy Esmeralda and Carol Brito. Expo Osaka 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nIt is a world-class event held on the artificial island of Yumeshima, in Osaka Bay, Japan, from April 13 to October 13. The central theme is “Designing the society of the future for our lives”, with a focus on sustainability, technology, and improving the planet.
