Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa arrived in Japan this Tuesday for a five-day visit, which began with a meeting with the Japan Business Federation, Keidanren, the country’s main employers’ association.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Ecuadorian leader described the potential of his country to Japanese businessmen, “who highlighted the possibility of investing in strategic sectors such as health, agriculture, energy, responsible mining, food, security, automotive, technology and production”, according to the Ecuadorian presidency.<\/p>\n
The meeting served to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, “opening new investment and development opportunities for both countries,” added Quito in a post on its Facebook social network profile, without going into further detail.<\/p>\n
The meeting of President Noboa with representatives of the Japanese business elite opened the official agenda of the president in the Asian country, which will also include in the coming days a meeting with the Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba, and an audience with the Crown Princes, Fumihito and Kiko of Akishino.<\/p>\n
It is also planned that Noboa will preside over a seminar to promote trade and investment, witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) and Pro Ecuador, and hold a meeting with the Ecuadorian resident community in the Japanese archipelago.<\/p>\n
Noboa seeks in Tokyo to deepen ties with the world’s fourth-largest economy to move towards a more structured and diversified cooperation that allows, among other things, to attract greater investment not only from the public sector, but from the private business sector as a whole, with a focus on energy projects, including renewables, as indicated by the Quito government.<\/p>\n
The Ecuadorian president’s visit to Japan marks the beginning of a tour that will later take him to Vietnam starting Saturday and for three days, during which he will meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, among other activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
