The initiative seeks to identify opportunities, promote the exchange of good practices, and consolidate the international projection of the country&#8217;s universities.\n\nThe head of MESCyT, Dr. Franklin Garc\u00eda Ferm\u00edn, highlighted that the forum aimed to socialize internationalization strategies implemented by HEIs to strengthen educational quality, competitiveness, and global reciprocity.\n\nGarc\u00eda Ferm\u00edn indicated that 170 priority curricula have been redesigned with a competency-based approach and that recently the National Council of Higher Education, Science and Technology (CONESCyT) approved a new framework for teacher training, consolidating the advances in educational planning.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cEn los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os, bajo la gesti\u00f3n del presidente Luis Abinader, hemos alineado nuestra educaci\u00f3n superior con est\u00e1ndares mundiales, formando m\u00e9dicos, ingenieros y profesionales que cumplen con los m\u00e1s altos niveles de excelencia acad\u00e9mica\u201d, <\/p><cite>afirm\u00f3 Garc\u00eda Ferm\u00edn.<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\nThrough panels with experts, the Forum addressed key issues: Critical analysis of internationalization: Demystifying concepts and guiding policies and practices in Dominican HEIs. Governance as a pillar: Evaluating leadership, management, and decision-making to improve educational quality. Academic mobility: Integrating intercultural approaches and global competencies into curricula.\n\nInternational cooperation: Strengthen networks, mobility programs, and interdisciplinary collaboration with equity and sustainability. Regional context: Position Dominican HEIs within the dynamics of Latin America and the Caribbean.
