I couldn’t keep watching… I was ashamed”"},"content":{"rendered":"The young woman allegedly victim of sexual assault<\/a> told the Public Ministry about the difficult moments she is going through, after seeing several videos circulating on social media in which she is seen in a state of unconsciousness, being assaulted by multiple individuals.\n\n“I recognized myself in one of the videos. I couldn’t keep watching… I was ashamed,” expressed the victim through tears, in an interview conducted by the authorities.\n\nAccording to the victim’s testimony reported in the case file, the events occurred on the night of March 18. The young woman was invited by an acquaintance, identified as Nayelis, to go out to the “Yorkis” grocery store. There, after consuming a drink served by others, she began to feel unwell and lost consciousness.\n\n\u201cThe last thing I remember is taking the glass\u2026 then I woke up in the hospital. Then they put me on a scooter and then I don’t remember anything else, until I woke up in my bed,\u201d he recounted.\n\nWhen she finally found out about the videos, it was through comments from a neighbor and a cousin, who warned her about the existence of the recordings. One of those videos reached her days later, and upon seeing herself in it, she went into shock.\n\nThe case has caused great public consternation due to the alleged involvement of at least seven people, some of whom have already been mentioned by name or nickname in the young woman’s testimony. One of them, identified as “Ferere”, is said to have been present at the hospital before taking her on a scooter, after which the victim lost consciousness again.\n\nThe young woman also expressed her confusion and sadness at the role of those close to her, who did not protect her. In the messages recovered by her mother, one of those present at the scene wrote:\n\n“Forgive me, that day I tried to help her, but they took her away. They let me be tricked.”\n\nCurrently, the victim is receiving psychological support, while her mother and family members have taken on contact with the media and authorities. The family has requested respect for Genesis’s emotional integrity and privacy in this process.\n\nThe Public Ministry has opened a formal investigation and is gathering evidence and testimonies.\n\nAccording to the file presented by the Public Ministry in the case of the rape of the young woman G\u00e9nesis Pe\u00f1a, one of those accused remains a fugitive from justice.\n\n\n

Defendants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe aforementioned Erik Castro \u00c1lvarez, alias “Poch\u00f3n”, is mentioned in the file as the last of the seven defendants accused of committing the aggravated act against the young woman on March 17th of this year.\n\nThose who have already been arrested are Edwin Manuel Castro Guzm\u00e1n (El Guaro), Yamir Fernando P\u00e9rez Toribio (Ferere), Javier Eduardo N\u00fa\u00f1ez Toribio (Beb\u00e9 or El Chichi), Jos\u00e9 Alfonso Rubiera Rodr\u00edguez (Fonso), Oniel Rafael Pichardo Mart\u00ednez (Contrera) and Delfri de Jes\u00fas Rodr\u00edguez (Yiyo).\n\nDuring the searches, the authorities seized several cell phones, including a white iPhone 13 and a blue iPhone 12, which contained videos of the assault.
