The health system is left in a bad light in the face of these deplorable events and denote that the measures to mitigate these risks were not taken into account in a timely manner,” said Canario, in a press release distributed to the media.\n\nFor the Etikos Foundation, people, families and institutions, visible expressions of society, have been affected by this irresponsible action of public servants who overlooked their commitment to a high-priority sector such as Health.\n\n“We reiterate the need to strengthen the mechanisms of ethics and institutional integrity in public and private entities of the health sector, incorporating social audits, digital traceability, and conflict of interest prevention protocols,” pointed out the president of the foundation.\n\nEtikos expressed its willingness to contribute to the country its experience in activities that promote transparency and accountability in health management.\n\n“This situation obliges us as a nation to convene a broad and multi-sectoral dialogue, with the participation of civil society, academies, and professional guilds to promote reforms that guarantee that health resources are used with justice, efficiency, and ethics. The current crisis must become an opportunity to move towards a more transparent, fair, and sustainable health system,” pointed out Dr. Julio Canario.\n\n\n
