NEW YORK. \u2013<\/strong> The New York Yankees<\/strong> paid tribute this Thursday to the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001<\/strong> with a solemn pre-game ceremony at Yankee Stadium, which included the participation of manager Aaron Boone<\/strong> and pitchers Gerrit Cole<\/strong> and Carlos Rod\u00f3n<\/strong>, as well as the presence of President Donald J. Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We remember those we lost, the heroism of all who bravely sacrificed their own lives to save others, and those who died from illnesses contracted at Ground Zero. Their spirit lives on today with our first responders and all who serve our communities and our country.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe ceremony featured a historic moment: the presidential visit of Donald Trump<\/strong>, who was accompanied by club owner Hal Steinbrenner<\/strong> and team president Randy Levine<\/strong>. This is the third time a sitting president has attended a game at Yankee Stadium, but the first time at the stadium inaugurated in 2009.\n\nThe tribute also evoked iconic moments from the past, such as when President George W. Bush<\/strong> made the ceremonial pitch in Game 3 of the 2001 World Series, and President Warren G.
