To support the parishioners, Seguros Venezuela donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which will be available to attend to any emergency due to sudden cardiac arrest that may occur among the attendees.\n\nWith this contribution, made in partnership between Seguros Venezuela, Fundaci\u00f3n Veneasistencia and the Basilica, the center of Maracaibo becomes a cardioprotected zone.\n\nThe AED is a vital resource for handling cardiovascular emergencies. Its objective is to provide a rapid and effective response that can save lives, as every second is crucial in these situations. In this sense, an AED allows an electric shock to be applied in the first minutes, before the ambulance arrives, which can raise the survival rate from 20 to 80%.\n\nTo complement the installation, basic life support courses were given to members of the parish, training them to act as first responders in an emergency.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Approach and well-being<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The important equipment, donated by Seguros Venezuela, was installed after a thanksgiving mass. &#8220;Maracaibo becomes a safer city. This project is very valuable to us, as it allows us to continue supporting the community and having a direct approach with it,&#8221; said the executive president of the insurance company, Carmen Alicia Guill\u00e9n.
